Route: Braithwaite - Barrow Gill - Barrow Door - High Moss - Sail - Eel Crag - Wandope Moss - Whiteless Pike - Whiteless Breast - Grassgarth Coppice - Mill Beck - Buttermere - Buttermere YHA
Notes: A murky and damp start to the day, with the cloud base down to around 600m, meant no view from the summit of Eel Crag. But in a mid-afternoon revelation, the sun finally burnt through and the cloud dispersed, giving excellent vistas from the top of Whiteless Pike and a fine late-spring evening at Buttermere, plenty of reward for a big hike with a full backpack.
